We knew months before it was either a benign bone marrow malignancy - treatable - or cancer.
Asia's blood tests came back. It's -just- the former, thrombocitosis.
Still sucks, sure, but we are so relieved I want to tell the world!
She was so brave, I wish everyone such strength.
Today we went for her to get a bone marrow biopsy taken, to conclude if it isn't myofibrylosis - the results will be in 3 weeks, but the doc said if it were it, the blood screen would have shown other spikes. We did it anyway just to stay safe - even if it were that condition, there are treatments available. The summary is - it's NOT cancer.
Blood platelets are produced in abnormal quantities which raises risk of heart attacks in later years, but it's all treatable and manageable with asprin. We will manage.
We are so relieved.
